The Engage & Contribute Committee has two goals:
- To bring the CU student community together with the CU Alumni community. This committee was created for the main purpose of networking for student-alumni engagement, as well as student-to-student engagement. This committee plans events that help students develop networking skills, leadership skills and professional skills needed to make it in the “real world”. We also connect students with other student groups, organizations and sports on campus.
- To give back to the Boulder community as a whole. The Herd believes volunteering and community service are important aspects of the CU student community that teaches students valuable life experiences. The Herd aims to provide students with opportunities throughout the school year that engages students in giving back to the Boulder community, as well as connecting the CU student community with the greater Boulder community. The Herd has participated in Relay for Life and we have volunteered at the children’s hospital. This past March, The Herd hosted a St. Baldrick’s Day event and raised close to $30,000. Join The Herd at the Koenig Alumni Association for a free lunch for our Herd membersbetween 12 – 2 p.m. The first Wednesday of every month, starting in September. Check out the events page for more details!
THE NEARLY NAKED MILE CLOTHING DRIVE IS HERE!
This year the Herd is partnering with several great organizations to make this THE BEST NEARLY NAKED MILE EVER! Come enjoy FREE food and hot beverages and donate your clothes to help the community! This year’s run is scheduled for October 26th starting at 7:30 at the Koenig Alumni Center. Either come wearing the clothes you want to donate (and your costume) or bring them with you! Donating 5 articles of clothing gets you a SWEET Nearly Naked Mile SHIRT to show off! (while supplies last)
How it works: Bring clothes/waiver to the start of the Race to trade for a RAD shirt. Enjoy the goodies graciously donated by the sponsors JOIN OVER 650 STUDENTS AS WE RUN THROUGH CAMPUS!
